Thivim Town is one of the small city in Bardez which is at North Goa and is one of the important gateway with North Goa as the major railway station. The ancestral village of the first global beauty queen of India Ms. Reita Faria along with Mr. Prathumesh Maulingkar who was crowned Mister Supernational 2018 with the other famous personality as Nelson Paes from the mixed martial arts with MMA Champion. The location of Tivim is near Mapusa and the railway station at Tivim falls under the jurisdiction of the Konkan Railway and the first station to reach from various destinations such as Mumbai and Kerela which is the small station of North Goa. It comes under the major rail route of india and got developed in 1990’s with around 38 trains halting on the single broad gauge track and the train provides some better scenic routes making it very special.

The local village in Bardez Taluka has many nearby tourist attractions which includes the Tivim Fort, Colvale Fort, Corjuem Fort, Amtonem Lake, Saint Anthony Chapel along with St. Christopher Church which are known to be famous places and are the most visited places of the Thivim town. The few places of worship which are known to be a prominent institutions in the village are of the local church with St. Christopher and the local schools of St. Anne’s along with St. Clara’s near Assonara are found to be one of the most famous institutions. Also, the football ground is found near the main road alongside St. Anne’s School with the prominent historical site with Colvale Fort ( Goa) being the major tourist attractions.
