The Rachol Seminary, South Goa

The Rachol Seminary, Goa is also known as Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol and is the Dicosesan seminary of the Primatial Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman. The edifice houses the seminary and was constructed by the Jesuits with donations from the boy-King of Portugal. The Church is said to be continuing under the invocation of St. Ignatus of Loyola in 1774. There are various inter-religious ceremonies of the people from all religion at the seminary and it works towards religious unity for the country inculcating faith with social values and fostering communal ties with ease in the people. The feast in the name of various Pope and Saints are organized and the Patriarchal seminary of the Theology is established with various ways in enjoying the beautiful atmosphere of Goa.

The Rachol Seminary of Goa stands out to be the largest seminary of Goa and is the place where the priests in the Christian tradition get trained and the colorful arch is built with part of laterite stone with wall which welcomes the visitors. There is a small Hillock and a white Church like structure with a beautiful garden with long walls on the side. It is also peacefull and one can reach there on his own car as it also has ample parking space and all those who are no aware what a Seminary is will find it a good place to enjoy.

Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol or The Rachol Seminary was founded in 1609 by Portuguese ruler. It is college of the Saints which get Christian religion related education. It is located at Rachol town which is just 7 kilometers far from Margao city. This was established by boy-king of Portugal country. Later this college named College of St. Ignatius to homage of the St. Ignatius of Loyola. Present, the Rachol Seminary has 95 students.
