Shree Datta Temple, North Goa

Shri Dutta Mandir or temple is located at Dattawadi, Sanquelim (North Goa district). This temple has Trinity of the Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma who are symbol of the destruction, preservation and creation. Shree Dattatreya Mandir is also famous to cure of the mental troubles. Lots of the people also come to cure of their relative mental problem. Many people also got relex from this disease. Around this temple has several palm trees and agriculture field which make it very beautiful and attractive to visit.

Shri Datta Temple, Goa is also known as Shri Datta mandir and is also known to be one of the temples which remains untouched from destruction and is dedicated to Lord Dattatreya. The temple is also dedicated to Dattawadi, Sanquelim and the Hindu Trimurti is combined here in the form of Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. They are called the Holy trinity and these Gods are said to be symbol of preservation along with creation and destruction. The architecture of the temple is said to be with a combination of traditional local building and with rigid architectural style. The unique combination of the temple with the extensive work of craft makes it look different and the interior of the temple is made of the white marbles. The temple was built in the form of a shrine and it is said that to keep the idol of Lord Dattatreya in a safe manner the temple was built in the form of a shrine.The idol deity is different and it is said that the entrance has statues of cow which depicts Earth along with the 4 dogs which depicts 4 Vedas. It is said that the deity is very powerful along with the beautiful natural surroundings with greenery of palm groves and beautiful sight of the hillock with freshness of the surroundings which is very captivating to the eyes.
