Institute Menezes Braganza, Panjim

Institute Menezes Braganza is a cultural, literature, Language and art promotion institute. Its former name was Institute Vasco da Gama. It was originally established in 1871 in Portuguese rule period.

Institute Menezes Braganza is one of the prominent cultural institution making Goa as the state promoting literature, art, language and culture with the earlier name as Institute Vasco Da Gama and establishment of 24th November 1871. The existence of the institute has come to an end in 1997 and after which the Govt. Of Goa re-established the Institute as a new Society and got it registered by the name of Institute Menezes Bragenza. It helps to promote Goan talent in the allied areas and thus it helps in meeting the versatile cultural interests of the societies of Goa in terms of maintaining its repute.

The aims along with objectives and it primarily seeking to promote Goan which helps in maintaining the talent and the allied areas along with meeting the versatile cultural interests of the Goan Society as a whole. The Institute Menezes Braganza also collaborates with activities and the other like minded institutions with National Book Trust along with New Delhi, Sahitya Akademy, Goa Konkani Academy, Gomantak Marathi Academy, Gomantak Sahitya Sevak Mandal along with several other institutions which organizes literacy and academic with other related activities. The Institute Menezes Braganza which collaborates with activities along with providing a common platform with interactions such as symposia, panel discussion and lectures with talks and performances.

The recitals and organizing conferences with seminars along with literary festivals and poet meetings along with workshops, exhibitions and competitions with also publishing books, seminar papers, souvenirs, conference proceedings along with bulletin and journals and thus creating with valuable database information.
