Corjuem Fort, North Goa

Corjuem Fort is located at the village of Aldona which is on the river island of Corjuem and is a military fortress which was built by defense of Portuguese, India. The good view of the surrounding river and land with protected monument tag given to the Corjeum Fort and the Fort is situated with the same name in Bardez and with the east of the protected monument flows the Mapuca River. The Fort is built in 1705 and is one of the only two islands forts which are survived with less number of attacks. The Corjeum Fort is surrounded by exceptionally beautiful swathes of Goan countryside and is a great place for a scenic walk or a little photography makes it a great place to enjoy.

The Corjeum Fort is originally the property of the Bhonsle rulers of Sawantwadi and the Fort was annexed to the Portuguese administration of Goa. The colonies rebuilt around the Fort with the architecture built in a square shape and has bastions at each of the four corners with many of the Canons lying there. The walls are wide and have multiple gun ports along with murder holes for small guns to be placed there. It is quite an interesting place to stay for some time at this Fort and enjoy the serene and peaceful atmosphere.

Corjuem Fort is situated near of the aldona village in Bardez taluka. This fort was built in 1705 by Caetano de Melo e Castro Portuguese ruler. This fort size is very small than other forts of the Goa state. Generally, this fort was used to military purpose to training to solders. This fort condition is ruins but open to visit general public.
